Camp fire stories, welcoming and knowledgeable guides and a spectacular kaleidoscope of changing landscapes teeming with game make Vuma Hills Tented Camp and Foxes Safari Camp in Tanzania unforgettable.
Guests can enjoy the beauty of Mikumi National Park and the rain forest of Udzungwa Mountains National Park from the comfort of Vuma Hills and Foxes Camp. Personal service and extremely friendly staff and rangers will make guests feel right at home.
Tea, coffee and drinks are always available at either camp but decaffeinated coffee drinkers should bring their own with them, as it is not readily available in Tanzania. Vuma Hills Tented Camp, a Tanzania lodge, is located in the south west of Mikumi National Park and perched above the trees which seem to stretch over and endless expanse of wilderness.
'Vuma' is a Kiswahili word meaning 'a good rumour that is spread with the blowing wind'. A delightful name for a great place to rest and wonder at the beauty and the true spirit of Africa.
In the dining room, guests can savour the home grown food, freshly prepared with pride by camp chefs, while looking over the inviting swimming pool area in this little oasis. Vuma Hills Tented Camp owns its own highland farm from which it obtains great fresh produce.
At Vuma Hills, guests will never go hungry with 3 full meals a day to keep the wolves (or Lions!) at bay, even those on restricted diets wont be left out. Vuma is open all year round with the peak season being from June to February.
Foxes Safari Camp is the only small and personalised camp in Mikumi National Park. It is situated high on a rocky kopje with the Mkata flood plain spread out below, and has exquisite views over the best game viewing in the park at Mwanamboga waterhole.
This Tanzania safari camp has 360 degree views and an intimate, friendly atmosphere. Guests can enjoy 3 meals a day with a flexible lunch time, a vegetarian option for dinner and also enjoy a quiet cuppa back at their tent to relax and savour the days activities.
Foxes Camp is open seasonally from June to February and closed during the rainy season taking place between March and June
